PopularNoise

These are a few examples of a vinyl covers remade to hold the vinyl differently. It has become more aesthetically appealing for the viewer when it has been made this way.
Also the use of a serif font with monochrome colours to make the packaging fashionable.

New Blood Entry — Ice Cream for Change

http://www.dandad.org/awards/new-blood/2014/unilever-white-pencil/2660/ice-cream-for-change/

To help with the discrimination against gay propaganda in Moscow. Ben and Jerry's created packing which changed the original logo in to names of gay couples and sold them in Moscow. This was like a secret advertising.

New Blood Entry — 24 Hour D&AD Challenge

Barbara Ryan

Barbara Ryan loves creating and set her self the task of creating 15 of the briefs within 24 hours. From 7am to 7am. She recorded the whole processes and this was the outcome.
An imaginative form of documentation.

I like the use of the dual cameras, and also the time lapse to speed up the process of the 24 hours to show her work ethic in full. I hope to produce a visual treatment along these lines. I love the self explanatory use of twitter feed snippets. Also the use of live streaming made her work even more challenging to stick to the time limits she set her self.

Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker

Tate Britian- Radio City

This short clip is a must watch. It explains how an artist is attached to her work and how she refine herself and works to achieve more.

Jean-paul Goude

Grace Jones - Island Life

The topic which made me choose this album cover was the re-creation of the image below on the right called 'champagne incident'. The image was recreated by the original photographer Jean-Paul Goude. His risqué image caused some disturbance throughout the media when Paper magazine released the issue with Kim Kardashian on the front cover. Previous to this, the original image was produced in 1976.

Whilst people have been more open to nudity in the media in recent years. It is a brilliant that an artists can produce a shocking reaction from their work when it has been made more modest and conserved to previous pieces.

Make your mark

For this brief i have decided to recreate the album art of 5 very different songs. Chosen by either myself or someone I know.

I have decided to do this because I find music to be a very personal opinion. I hope by remodelling the covers of these songs it will give them extra depth, using my own point of view. I hope to use images and properties that relate back to the musicians.

Another reason I have chosen to do this because I like the design element of the task. Choosing where text will have to fit on the surface. Use of image and colours. This will give me a chance to explore more in to branding and identity of a product.

Vinyl packing that plays the record

Couldn't find the source for this product. But this is such a innovative idea. Very fun, and would be great as a collectors item. The packaging is brilliant using the basics of brown paper box and black for the print and type.

M.E.S.H

                           Scythians - M.E.S.H

Berlin based producer released this debut LP June 6th 2014. Using very natural colours with major details this packaging is almost dream like. The scattered lines on the slip could almost refer back to the artists name. The vinyl is also coloured which adds to the experience for the customer. It adds a new layer to the packaging. Especially that the packaging is transparent.

How to dress well

How to dress well - What is this heart?

This LP is interesting there are only 1000 copies to be made and it comes with limited edition items. They have  also printed on to PVC to create the wallet, Which create layers to to the package. Vinyl is more interesting to purchase rather than CD or digitally because it becomes a experience when the product is this exclusive and well made. It is fun for the customer to own.

Simon Delart

These Vinyl sleeves were created by Simon Delart. They were produced to pay homage to the people who create brilliant movie soundtracks. He has used polygons and iconic images from the blockbusters.
